Time to take stock

Come Friday we'll be in December which means the end of the year is in sight. Whether you’ve had a stellar 12 months on the course like Justin Thomas or have seen your handicap rise throughout 2017, it’s time to look ahead as to what 2018 may deliver.

It’s always interesting to set yourself a goal for the following year, whether that’s to win your first competition, buy yourself some new clubs (custom fitted, of course!) or simply get out on the course more often.

Fairway mats now compulsory

In case you missed last week's update, the Head Greenkeeper has advised that due to the wet weather of the last few days and the continuingpoor forecast for the coming days, that fairway mats are now in play. 

Fariway mates will be compulsory for all social golf and club competitions. For bounce games, players may move the ball to the semi-rough as an alternative, but there no option to do so in competition play (this applies to winter medals and match play ties). 

If you have been unable to purchase a mat, these can be purchased from the pro shop while stocks last. There will be no option to hire mats this year due to many not being returned last winter. 

Fairway mats will be in play until further notice and any decision to remove this provision will be made by the Head Greenkeeper. 

We hope members will appreciate that this decision has been made solely for the purposes of protecting the course during the winter months.
