Tour news

All Roads Lead to Paris…

The finale of the Made in Denmark tournament was an all-English affair, with a four-way play-off between Lee Westwood, Jonathan ‘Jigger’ Thomson, Steven Brown and eventual winner Matt Wallace. The tournament was played at the home course of Ryder Cup Captain, Thomas Bjorn, and the event has become a firm favourite with both players and fans alike. Due to the European Tour tournament rescheduling that will take place next year, the Made in Denmark will move to the week of BMW PGA at Wentworth and hopes to attract even more big names.

The automatic picks for Europe’s Ryder Cup team were also decided in Denmark, but I’m sure you are all now talking about the Captain’s wildcard picks that took place on Wednesday. The American team still have one pick remaining with the finale of the FedExCup unfolding over the next few weeks and all eyes on East Lake for the next 10-million-dollar man!

Greenkeepers Revenge Comp

On Saturday we had the Greenkeepers Revenge Comp, Mark took great delight in getting his own back on the members and setting up the course with traps and games. From the feedback everybody had great fun and enjoyed there day, well done Mark! Results and some pics from the day:

Junior news

Players of the Week...

This week we had our mini junior course set up on the range and the kids had a great time learning how to mark a card and to practice some of the shots they’ve been learning during the lessons. Well done to this week’s players of the week Nelson and Cody.

Ladies news

St Margaret’s Trophy

Well done to Aberdour ladies, they were runners up in this Fife council run competition. 8 teams compete from local clubs. This year’s Pitfirrane hosted the event.

Hole in One

Congratulations to a delighted Maggie Christie on getting her first hole in one at the 15th hole. Maggie was playing in the Ladies Stableford and flushed a 5w she then bent down to pick up her tee to hear the cheers of her playing partners Sheila and Annette and missed the ball disappearing in to the hole!

Well done Maggie.
